If you’ve ever worked in the construction trade, you’re probably very familiar with the term “personal protective equipment”, or PPE. Even if you haven’t, that term has been used to describe the wearing of face masks during this pandemic. Many people don’t realize that PPE does not have to be specific to construction or during a pandemic. PPE is a good idea for many everyday tasks around your home and especially for DIY home improvement projects.

PPE around the home may mean work boots, gloves, safety glasses, and yes, even a hard hat. Before you start the next project on your “honey-do” list, why not take a few minutes to think about what you’ll be doing during that project? You might think of a few potential safety hazards that can be avoided by wearing some simple PPE. And then, when you’re in the middle of the work, be sure to keep your PPE on.
