Regardless of how we may feel about the topic of keeping a home clean, there’s no getting around the fact that a clutter-free home is the preferred option for prospective homebuyers. Why is that the case?
While there are some people who can easily identify potential and see beyond minor inconveniences, most people will see a cluttered home and get a bad impression of it. Seeing clutter might stop them from being able to imagine themselves living in the home. They might start to think that there isn’t enough storage, or they may feel like the clutter is just camouflaging significant issues that they’d have to deal with after moving in. Or, having too much clutter around the house could make it seem like the house is a lot smaller than it actually is. And, perhaps worst of all, clutter can easily become a home for pests like rodents and insects, and no prospective buyer wants to see that when they’re touring.
