The condition of wall paint can have a huge effect on the appearance of a space. Bright, clean walls can make a space feel pure and open. While stains and uneven markings can make a space feel dirty. To maintain that freshly painted look, you need to keep your walls free of dust, spots, and most especially stains. Regular preventive maintenance is the best way to save yourself time and effort scrubbing walls later.
Some stains might not be so easy to wipe away with just a little water. For these more stubborn stains, you can make an all-purpose detergent with household items (Please note that this recipe can be used for the more common oil-based paints). Dab the following mixture onto the stain and wait for 10 minutes before rubbing it clean:
- Mix 1 teaspoon of liquid dish soap into 1L of warm water
- Add a 1/4 teaspoon of white vinegar
